Updated: 05May10
We are always looking for quality classes that your children will love, where they can learn and grow, and become their best selves. I would love to hear your ideas and if you know of a class that shares our philosophy, and would be a great fit for our school, please speak with or email Nita. Thanks!
Aftercare Information
Important Message
When you pick your child(ren) up from aftercare, please make sure to sign them out. It is imperative that the aftercare staff know which children are remaining in aftercare at all times.
Also, make sure to check the time before logging the “time out” for your child. Aftercare has noticed that the wrong time has been written in the “time out” box on several occasions since the beginning of this school year. Please write the exact time you are checking your child out (i.e. 3:50; 2:38, etc.). By making this effort, you will free up our aftercare staff to play, supervise and enjoy your children.
REMINDER: Older siblings cannot check children out from aftercare without prior approval from Nita. Her email address is enrichment@pcee.info. Please contact her first before having an older sibling attempt to check your child out from aftercare.
Thank you for your help in making our aftercare program run as smoothly and effectively as possible. -- Nita
Policies
Explorer’s aftercare program runs from 3 pm to 6 pm every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday; 12:30 pm to 6 pm every Wednesday; and, 3 pm to 5 pm every Friday.
Aftercare is open to all students and drop in care is available. Children not picked up in front of their classroom by 3:15 pm will automatically be escorted to aftercare.
The aftercare charge is currently $5.50 per hour. You will receive an invoice every two weeks. Payment is due upon receipt of invoice. The date on the invoice represents aftercare provided the two weeks prior to the invoice date.
Explorer alumni attending the other HT village schools are welcome to join their siblings in aftercare. There is no charge for this service. Older siblings are not permitted to sign their siblings out of aftercare (designated adults only).
On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday the front doors to Explorer School are locked at 3:30 pm and on Wednesdays the doors are locked at 1 pm. After these times, please use the side gate to enter the playground.
Parents picking up after an Enrichment class should wait in the aftercare room for your child to be dismissed by the teacher. For security reasons, parents and/or children are not allowed to wait in hallways once the school is locked (as noted above).
If you are late picking up your child (i.e. after 6 pm Monday through Thursday or after 5 pm on Friday), you will be charged a $20 fee. We know that you understand how important it is to be on time. Therefore, even if your child qualifies for aftercare at no charge, you will still be held responsible for the $20 late fee. If a child is picked up late more than two times, a conference will be held and your child may not be eligible for aftercare.
Children must remain in aftercare until an adult (18+ years old) signs them out; therefore, older siblings may not take younger siblings from Explorer School to any of the High Tech schools. Children need to be enrolled in a formal program after school hours to ensure their safety.
