 NEWS FLASHES
  • Welcome Back! - How's your first week of school going? Hopefully, your children are settling in well. Please contact the office if you have any questions - info@explorerelementary.org. Don't forget to print, read and sign the Enrichment Policy and Waiver as soon as you can. The office must have this completed paperwork on file before your child participates in Aftercare.
  • Webmaster Update - Your PC Webmaster has FINALLY gotten some work done on this site. Hopefully, you will find it helpful to have all of the office and Parent Council forms linked here. Look for more content improvements after my kiddos are both settled back in school. :o)
  • Enrichment Class - Jewelry - Kathy's back again this year to teach more jewelry making classes. Here's a flyer for her September class.
  • Pizza Tuesdays - Thank you volunteers for signing up to serve! - If you need to reach Treena with questions about the overall program, her email is pizza@pcee.info. Questions specific to pizza servers should be directed to Alice at pizzaservers@pcee.info.
  • Garden Teaching Volunteers Needed - Do you wish you spent more time with children out in nature? Now you can! Volunteers are needed to teach Explorer's standards-based garden curriculum for an hour once or twice a month for grades K - 2; just five times a year in grade 3, and two times per year in grades 4 and 5. Volunteers are needed from each classroom. For more information, please contact Cindy Jenson-Elliott - cjensonelliott@san.rr.com.
  • Parent Council Meeting - 9/28 from 8:15-9:15 a.m. - Everyone is looking forward to an outstanding year. We hope you were able to participate in our Explorer/Parent Council survey. Thank you for all of the great feedback. You'll hear a lot more at Parent Council meetings about ways that we will take your input and take action. We are calling it "ASK--ANSWER--ACTION". If you want to see who will be serving on the new council, click here. Please join us for this meeting. Bring your ideas and energy to share with our great school.
  • PC Meeting Minutes - You will find all approved minutes on the Docs & Links page. May's meeting minutes will be posted as soon as they are approved at the 9/28 PC meeting. At the August EPC meeting we voted to revise our bylaws to allow us to post the minutes sooner thanks to your survey feedback. That will take effect after September. Thanks for the great suggestion, Explorer families.

Shopping & eScrip - Please start all of your online shopping here by clicking on the "eScrip ONLINE MALL" button. You don't need to register your credit cards. As long as you start your shopping HERE all of your spending will be automatically credited to Explorer. Shop at all of your favorite online stores and earn money for our school at the same time. Win-win! Tell your relatives and friends - everyone can earn "free" money for our school. Thanks!

Scholastic Bookfair All parents and guardians of current Explorer Elementary Charter School students are invited to join the Parent Council (PCEE), participate in our meetings, and be active in our programs.

We are very proud of the support we provide our students and teachers. We organize the Back to School Picnic, Pizza Lunches, Everyone A Reader, Movie & Munchies Nights, Scholastic Bookfair, Skate Nights, Jog-A-Thon, Art From The Heart, and End of Year Social.
Jog-A-Thon
Our volunteers also serve lunch every day, support our teachers as room parents and classroom helpers, raise funds through eScrip and Box Tops, create our school yearbook, work in the library, plan teacher appreciations, provide hospitality, run the Explorer Kids Korps chapter, and so much more.

These programs enhance the Explorer community we are so proud to be a part of and generate the thousands of dollars we need to support our school. We want to keep the momentum going for many years to come. Please complete and return the 2009/10 Volunteer Survey when it comes out or download a copy. We sincerely appreciate every donation of time and money. As always, thank you for your support.
